Except aluminum alloy die casting, zinc alloy die casting is one of the distinguishing features of Sieg-Huao. Every coin has two sides, the same for zinc alloy die casting. Here we will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of zinc alloy die casting.

What are the advantages of zinc alloy die casting? Good surface quality, No easy to aging, Application in many fields, Good perspective and etc. Compared with plastic zinc alloy has the function of electromagnetic shielding and can be used in electrical field. Compared with aluminum alloy, zinc alloy has less heat absorption from solid state to liquid state, and is more energy saving in melting stage. China has rich zinc resources and stable raw materials and the state encourages the application of zinc alloys. Light density is catering to the automotive fuel - saving, household appliances lightweight trend. Machined cutting is easier, surface processing shows good brightness. Zinc-alloy has good heat transfer performance and can be used as heat dissipation shell for engine and whole machine.

Zinc alloy castings have less porosity than aluminum alloy die castings. Compared with aluminum alloy, zinc alloy die casting is less sticky and labor-saving. Compared with aluminum alloy, zinc alloy die casting has a long die life which can be used 25 million times in condition of good maintenance. Zinc alloy casting has the function of absorbing vibration, it is a good choice for mechanical device to reduce noises.

What are the disadvantages of zinc alloy die casting? The zinc alloy is easy to burn, so it is necessary to place (a large cylinder) of yellow sand on the side of the machine and melting furnace to place inflammable zinc slag, and a large barrel of flame retardant coating agent, as the flame situation caused by the scattered materials escaping from die casting process. The dust of zinc alloy will auto-ignite and the high temperature zinc slag will burn and special treatment will be required. Zinc alloy has a low specific heat capacity and fast heat loss which generally requires the mold to be designed with heating system. Zinc alloys burn in oil and explode in water. Chunks of zinc alloy will burn out of control once on fire, so prevention is very important.

The zinc alloy is easy to burn, and the cleaning work of alloy residue in melting furnace and heat preservation furnace is large. The alloy heat preservation furnace is not sealed, and the hydraulic oil should be without fuel to prevent fire. Inflammable and explosive gas and liquid should not be stored in the production site. As a structural material, zinc alloy is easy to be wet oxidized and needs surface treatment. The hot strength of zinc-alloy casting is low, and it is easy to produce thermal crack, which leads to air leakage and fracture of casting parts.
