Introduction of infiltration process for aluminum die casting

During the casting process of non-ferrous and ferrous metal, it is easy to produce blowholes, shrinkage cavity, porosity and other defects. Due to these small holes the casting parts will form leakage under pressure or loose hydraulic action, resulting in product scrap. Infiltration process is an effective way to solve the above-mentioned problems.

Infiltration process is suitable for material such as aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, copper alloy, cast iron and cast steel. It can solve the problem of steam leakage, water leakage and oil leakage.

Typical infiltrated die casting parts are used in so many fields, such as engine cylinder block, cylinder head, intake manifold, oil pump, nozzle, water pump, valve cover, casting the oil pan, carburetor, gearbox shell, shell, cast iron plate, crankcase, compressor, ABS controller, power steering gear, automobile wheel hub, fuel pump, gas control valves, hydraulic valves, filters, oil cylinder, cylinder, hydraulic pump, cooling pump, airtight aircraft instruments and electronic instruments cover, air brake parts and various gas meter and etc.

The steps of infiltration process for aluminum die casting include:

1. Put the aluminum die casting parts into the seepage tank.

2. Vacuum the glue solution into the leachate tank. The quantity of glue solution shall be decides as per the parts in the immersion basket, and then remove the vacuum to atmospheric pressure.

3. If necessary, turn on the compressor and use compressed air to push the glue into the micro-holes or cracks in the aluminum die casing parts. Compressive air pressure depends on the specific situation. If there is no special requirement, the compressive force of compressed air can be between 0.8 and 1.0MPa for 15 minutes. After infiltration, open the vent valve to discharge pressure.

4. Vacuum processing. The vacuum pump is started, the vacuum pressure is above -0.09 MPa, and the air (or water, oil, etc.) inside micro hole or crack is taken out through vacuum. The evacuation lasts for 15 minutes.

It is important that the leach liquor on the surface of the aluminum die casting parts must be cleaned up in time otherwise it will concentrate on the surface. The aluminum die casting parts can't leak at all when used at high pressure. Infiltration is effective for the porosity of aluminum die casting pieces. With only one set of devices, we can basically avoid the leaks in our aluminum pressure casting products. The device is available everywhere, at a low price, but dips are consumable. The relationship between them is just like ink and printers.

Sieg-Huao is equipment with such device and can solve the leakage problems of aluminum pressure casting parts. Welcome to contact us if you have more detailed requirement for the infiltration process.
