Requirements and maintenances for the use of die casting machine

Die casting machine is one of the three elements of high pressure die casting process. Do you know how to use and maintain the die casting machine correctly? Do you know the requirements for its use?

1. Environmental requirements. 

1) Keep the die casting machine and its surroundings clean. No smoking and water especially for the magnesium alloy die casting.

2) The space around the die-casting machine is unobstructed, and the ventilation equipment should be in excellent working conditions. The materials and auxiliary equipments should be arranged according to the requirements of fixed management.

3) After adding hydraulic oil or lubricating oil, the leaking oil should be wiped off as soon as possible.

4) The operator of magnesium alloy furnace shall wear safety uniform, gloves and face shield.

5) Careful work. Safety first. Prohibit irrelevant personnel to enter into the operation areas.

6) For the magnesium alloy diecast workshop, fire protection devices should be installed in the significant area, such as: at least 5 fire extinguishers/units (grade D fire extinguishers) dry salt and dry sand, dustless asbestos pad, etc..

Special note: do not use water, common fire extinguishing powder, foam, CO2, N2 to extinguish fire.

2. Operation requirements. 

1) Before opening diecast machine. 

Check the safety door and limit switch; Observe the PLC output signal light condition in the electrical box; Check the pressing stop button; Make sure that the total pressure of the oil pressure system and the settings of various functional parameters meet the working requirements

2) During machine opening. 

It is prohibited to stretch your hand into the die casting machine (die) or take materials from it by hand. 

3) Without permission and professional operator, no arbitrary adjustment of machine setting parameters should be made. 

Stop the machine immediately when the machine is in trouble or the alarm signal rings. Cut off the power supply, open the protective door, and repair the machine. High quality diecasting process ingots should be selected and avoid to pour metal containing moisture and oil into the furnace. The recovered alloy ingot shall be specially treated to recognize that its chemical composition meets the requirements before it can be reused. It is not allowed to throw slag directly into the furnace. 

3. Other requirements.

1) During machinery maintenance.

No step on the guide rail; No hitting the machine anywhere with the tools; The parts, safety door and safety cover removed during machine maintenance shall be installed as original on time; 

2) During electrical maintenance.

The power switch should be cut off during maintenance; When repairing and replacing hot work parts, the temperature should be cooled before proceeding; The electrical ground and neutral wire of the appliance cannot be removed.

3) To spray antirust agent. 

When the model (mould) is not used for a long time, a layer of anti-rust agent should be sprayed on the surface of the model (mould). 

4. Daily check of diecast machine. 

1) Check whether the control system and motor power can be cut off when the machine is stopped urgently.

2) Check the central lubrication system to be completely free of damage. When starting up, the automatic oil transfer can be automatically carried out by automatic oil transfer and operation.

3) Check furnace temperature control system should be normal.

4) Manual/automatic testing and inspection should be carried out respectively. When the safety door is opened or semi-opened, the lock movement should be terminated.

5)Check the working pressure of the hydraulic system to meet the machine specifications.

6) Check to see if the fixture is securely mounted on the molding plate and the moving plate.

7) After running for a period of time check the oil temperature, oil temperature which shall not exceed 55 ℃ long runtime

8) Check the safety door limit switch.

9) Check that the ground wire in the main electrical box should be in good condition.
