When it concerns the life of aluminum alloy die casting parts, a good cooling job of casting parts in time plays an important role when the aluminum alloy die casting mold temperature is high. Cooling methods for aluminum die casting molds include direct cooling, air cooling, water cooling and heat pipe cooling.


1. Direct cooling: 

Direct cooling can be performed with high heat transfer coefficients (ammonium bronze, tungsten based alloys, etc..) at the hot section of die casting type of aluminum alloy molding machine. In direct cooling, the ammonium bronze pin is screwed into the fixed mold core with a heat sink in the end position in order to enhance cooling. 


2. Air cooling: 

For the die casting parts which are difficult to cool with water, air cooling can be adopted. Air cooling can be used for blower blowing or compressed air. Air cooling can not only cool aluminum alloy die casting mould, but also blow the coating evenly, remove the evaporation gas of the coating and reduce the air hole of the casting. The cooling temperature of air cooling is much lower than that of water cooling.


3. Water cooling: 

The cooling water channel is set on the aluminum alloy die casting mould, so that the circulating water can enter the forming insert or core and bring the heat out of the mould. The cooling efficiency of water cooling is high, and the temperature of the external surface of the cavity can be reduced effectively, but the structure of die casting mold is increased to a large extent, which is used primarily for the mold with large heat release. The cooling water temperature should be higher than room temperature in order to prevent the appearance of the cavity from being exposed.


4. Heat pipe cooling: 

It is used primarily for small areas that are difficult to cool directly with cooling water. In the small parts to be cooled, heat is extracted with a heat pipe, and then cooling water is used to cool the heat pipe.
